Daniel Morden storytelling visit marked the reopening of Ystradgynlais Library after refurbishment.

The Ystradgynlais Library buzzed with excitement as acclaimed storyteller Daniel Morden graced its newly refurbished halls. The event, generously funded by the Friends of Ystrad Library, marked the library’s grand reopening.

A Captivating Morning and Afternoon

Local schools were in attendance, with Ysgol Y Cribarth joining the morning session and Dyffryn y Glowyr participating in the afternoon. Morden’s storytelling transported the audience to ancient Greece, weaving classic tales and legends. His dynamic interaction with listeners left a lasting impression.

"What a treat to tell tales to Ystradgynlais schoolchildren at the newly refurbished local library! Libraries are always a reason to be cheerful, and it was great to think that as a result of the event some of the children some of the children might pop in over the summer holidays, pick up a book, dvd or participate in the Summer Reading Challenge!."

Strange Tales Await

Following the enchanting performance, copies of Daniel Morden’s latest book, “Strange Tales,” were available for purchase and personally signed by the master storyteller himself. The library’s revival was not only a celebration of literature but also a testament to the power of storytelling in our community.
